LOUIS VUITTON

Louis Vuitton, or LV, is a luxury fashion brand founded by Louis Vuitton in 1854. The company began as a luggage company in Paris, France, and quickly gained popularity among the wealthy and famous for their high-quality and stylish trunks. In 1896, Georges Vuitton, the son of Louis Vuitton, designed and introduced the iconic monogram canvas. It features the interlocking “LV” logo and remains a staple of the brand to this day.

In the early 20th century, the brand expanded to include a variety of leather goods, such as handbags and wallets, as well as clothing and accessories. The company also opened flagship stores in major cities around the world, solidifying its position as a global luxury brand. Marc Jacobs became the company’s first artistic director in 1997. Virgil Abloh was chosen as the artistic director of menswear in 2018, becoming the first African American to hold the position. Abloh brought a new, more modern aesthetic to the brand.

Today, Louis Vuitton continues to be a leader in the luxury fashion industry. The brand is known for its high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, as well as its iconic monogram. Quality is what continues to set LV apart from other luxury designer brands. The company operates over 460 stores worldwide, and is a subsidiary of the LVMH group, the world’s largest luxury goods conglomerate. Louis Vuitton remains one of the most valuable luxury brands in the world.
